Everything you need to know in order to be beautifully Bondi  bronzed at any time of year.

1. Prep work
No matter which fake tan you use, it’s only as good as the canvas you work from. To prep your skin for a perfect tan, hit the shower and exfoliate with some elbow grease.

Once you’ve dried off, dab rough areas of skin – elbows, knees, ankles, hands, wrists – with some moisturiser, this will stop the tan from catching and building up on these patches, If you’re tanning your face, moisturise your hairline for the same reason.

2. Shaving time
If you shave your legs, try to do so a day before applying tan. This way your skin won’t be too sensitised and reactive to the tanning formulation.

3. Apply the product
Now it’s time to get down to the business of bronzing. Do the large areas of the body first: the limbs, stomach and back, Then focus in on the feet, ankles, knees and neck. If you see the tan darken too much in these areas as it develops, simply grab a Bondi Lifeguards applicator mitt or towel and buff the colour down. To give your hands a natural-look colour, mix part-tanner, part body moisturise and massage into the backs of hands.

4. Choose your shade
No matter if you’re using a lotion, or foam, you must get your shade right. A good tip is that If you’re fair and want to go dark, do a couple of applications of a light-to-medium shade, rather than trying a dark shade first, or you’ll end up looking fake;  It’s always best to carry out a patch-test prior to tanning so you can see the colour that your skin will end up. Bondi Lifeguards Tanning Foams come in both Light/Medium and Dark, or for the ultimate in control the gradual tanning milks allow you to gradually build colour to your desired look.
